Fab Fabrics

What a brilliant day today was at Friendship Quilter's Fabric Sale by Doughty's.  Got to the sports hall at 8.30 this morning to help set up all the tables for the fabrics, raffle, sales table and refreshments.  In the past we have held this event in a much smaller hall, so we didn't know quite how it was going to go.  We need not have worried!  The hall became packed and the queues for the cutting and purchasing of fabrics was almost out to the doors!!!

Here's a selection of what was there

.....and this is what I bought to make some bags for summer

My friend Angela, who organised it all, loved the label I made her that went around the roses I gave her.

Label for my Friend

Tonight I made a label for my friend which I attached to a posy of roses.  She runs Friendship Quilters and does so much for us all.  She has organised a fabric sale for tomorrow and I just wanted to say, 'Thank you'

Early start in the morning to start setting up the tables for the fabric sale.  Til the next time.....

Mini Found Its Way Home

Yay, the little mini quilt that got lost in the post has found its way home to my swap partner.  And this is what it looks like.

Because it took so long to get to its destination in USA (about 6 weeks), I really thought that it had got lost, so I made another mini and sent it off last week.  Hopefully that will get there this week.

BBC Good Food Show at Bluewater

I had the most brilliant day today at Bluewater.  I went to the BBC Good Food Show and had booked to see Gino D'Acampo.  He was so funny and entertaining.  He cooked two wonderful Italian dishes, gave away some gifts to those of the audience who had helped him and ran over his time slot!  Whilst his back was turned James Martin came on and cleared away his dishes, much to the delight of the audience.

Well I had to buy the book didn't I, and join the queue for Gino to sign it.  Here's a photo of Gino and me at the signing.

I have always loved to watch Gino cook on TV, but I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would ever get to meet him!
