Free Motion Friday

I've joined in Free Motion Friday with Cindy of Fluffy Sheep Quilting. See Cindy's blog on the right. Each Friday we have a week to piece another, different, free motion.  This week's was Shadow Lines.  I think I used too small a sampler to try it out, but I soldiered on!!  Try as I might to get the lines to curve they still look straight.  I wobbled a bit when I lost sight of the line behind the needle.  I quite like the back of mine.

On the next one which looks interesting and challenging.

  1. Irene - I think we had the same problem...I couldn`t get a lot of curve and I found it difficult when I couldn`t see ahead so I would end up pivotong the needle so that I was always pushing rather than pulling. I think our efforts look very similar and are good for first attempts. Onwards and upwards!

  7. I have the same problem. Those lines would not stay curved, and the ones going backwards are definitely wobblier than the ones going forwards!

  8. I think you have done really well, with the thick/thin contrast thing going really well. I am sure the curves will get better with practice.

  9. I think what you did looks great! I too had the same issue - I couldn't see "around" the foot to see where I was going. I'm hoping using a bigger scrap will help this week. Fingers crossed!
